Rachel Roy is quickly on the rise to become a full luxury brand. Alexandra </aSteigrad of WWD reported on Tuesday, January 31st, that Rachel Roy will be launching a a fall shoe collection for her designer line, Rachel Roy, that is set to hit stores in August. The collection will range in price from $200-$600 and include around 30 different styles. The collection will include materials like calf, kid skin suede, pony hair, snake and what will a shoe be without glitter!
With Manolo Blahnik as her mentor for her first six seasons and worked on NYFW shows during that time, it comes to no surprise that he is her designer inspiration. While her collection will be more “classic with a twist”, her collection has Manolo Blahnik inspired details like mixing materials and textures. Her collection will combine materials like wool and suede along with colors like neon’s and prints including polka dots and animals. Roy is focused on showcasing a balance between sexy and strong with a men’s inspired oxford with a heel.
Rachel Roy collection is targeted to the younger contemporary consumer. The Jones Group Inc. bought 50% stake in the company in 2008 and in 2009, Roy launched a line with Macy’s, Rachel Rachel Roy, that included apparel and accessories.
