Alberta Ferretti Next in Line for Macy’s Impulse

WWD reported Wednesday that Alberta Ferretti is the next designer to collaborate with a Fast Fashion retailer. Impulse Line at Macy’s features a contemporary women’s department who has collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld before.Ferretti is promising a collection that is “fresh and bright, featuring light summer clothing”.
The line will be sold for 10 weeks starting April 17th and the collection will consist of 30 pieces that include feminine dresses, garden-party looks, peasant tops,abstract floral prints, chiffon and knitwear with prices ranging from $49-$119.
Macy’s is vigorously trying to step up their image with limited designer collaborations, something that compete retailers like Nordstrom has only been able to do with Christian Siriano Nordstrom exclusive wedding gowns, at least that’s what his twitter feed rumored recently. Other department stores like JC Penny have added designer collaborations to their stores, most recently with Nanette Lepore’s JC Penny line, Nanette, that is set to debut next year.
